Help
Gerrit dashboards are a powerful way to filter changes in a project into multiple categories. For example, you can construct a dashboard to show the changes in one project grouped by state (drafts, opened, reviewed, abandoned, closed).
One way to create dashboards is to modify the project configuration. Most developers don’t have the necessary rights for this. The other way is to construct a special dashboard link. Anyone with access to the Gerrit instance can do that, but doing so is really painful. The goal of this tool is to lend a helping hand in that.
The Gerrit base URL is the base URL of your Gerrit instance.
Dashboard title will be the title of your dashboard, and will be displayed on the top of the page.
To create a new section, just press the + Add secion button. You can name all the sections by filling the Section title field. If you omit that, it will be called Section <n>, where <n> is the index of the section (numbered from 1; sorry about that.)
If you decide a section is not needed, press the big red - Remove button next to the section title.
To add a new filter to a section, press the + Add filter button. You can choose the filter type (e.g. you can filter on branch name, state, project, and many other fields. There is a list at the bottom of this panel.) When you find the correct filtering field, just enter a filter value in the input box. If you actually want to exclude changes matching that filter, tick the checkbox on the right of the input box.
Gerrit filters are concatenated together by AND operators. If you want to match on, for example, multiple branches, don’t create multiple Branch filters, but separate the branch names with colons (:), like master:develop
.
If you decide a filter is not needed, select the Delete this filter from the filter type dropdown.
The dashboard URL on the bottom of the page will update with every change you make, just like the Try it! button’s target URL.
You can add dashboards to the My tab of the Gerrit page. Navigate to Settings > Preferences and Enter a name in the input field under My Menu, and enter the generated Dashboard URL in the URL field, then press the + button on the left. Using the arrows on the rigt of the table you can reorganize the different dashboards you add here; the first link will be opened when you login to Gerrit. (Hint: You can add pretty much anything as the URL of a page, like basic queries or your settings page.)
Finally, the list of filters currently supported by this tool:
- Project
- The project where you want the changes from. If you don’t specify this, changes from all projects will be shown!
- Branch
- The branch for which the change was submitted.
- State
- The change state. Some possible values are starred (will match on changes starred by the current user), reviewed (will match on changes with at least one non-zero vote in any category), owner (will match on changes owned by the current user), reviewer (will match on changes where the current user is added as a reviewer), open (will match on any open changes, ie. that is not merged nor abandoned yet), draft (will match on draft changes), closed (will match on closed changes, ie. merged or abandoned), merged (will match on changes that have been merged to the target branch), mergeable (will match on changes that have no merge conflicts).

Known limitations
- It is impossible to create complex queries with this tool (like closed changes on branch a OR drafts on branch b). Even though the example I provided is a bit silly, there are use cases where you want to do such complex queries, but if you need that, you are on your own. Sorry.
- This page is not protected from XSS, CSRF, You-Name-It-Vulnerability, so use it with care. Gerrit, on the other hand, provides such protections, so your forgery will be prevented anyway.
- This page is tested only in Google Chrome. If you bump into problems in other browsers, contact me!
